The unofficial end to summer has arrived, known as Labor Day Weekend. It will definitely be summerlike across South Florida and overall a nice weekend with above average temperatures topping off into the low 90s all three days paired with below normal rain chances.

Our Saturday has been off to a soggy start in spots but it should turn drier by midday and into the afternoon with a good deal of sunshine and only a stray shower expected. It will turn breezy with sustained winds at 10-20 mph blowing onshore, which will aid in a moderate rip current risk for our east coast beaches.

A few showers will become possible again tonight and into tomorrow morning, especially into the Keys. Otherwise, Sunday should be a nice day as a whole with a few clouds and the breeze.

By Monday, there will be an increase in moisture blowing in from the Atlantic, so a few showers will be possible in the morning, then afternoon inland thunderstorms. The breeze should start to relax by this point in time, however.

In the tropics, there are two active tropical storms in Atlantic — the most activity we have seen so far this hurricane season. There is Tropical Storm Danielle, which is located over the North Atlantic Ocean. This storm is forecast to re-strengthen back into a hurricane on Sunday as it begins to move northeast. This storm does not pose any threat to land.

Then there is Tropical Storm Earl, which formed Saturday night, northeast of the Leeward Islands. This storm will slowly gain strength into next week as it likely and eventually curves out to sea and possibly toward Bermuda next week. In the short term this weekend, Earl will continue its trek to the west-northwest north of the Caribbean islands. Given its proximity to these islands, some showers and storms will be possible from the Leeward Islands through Puerto Rico.
