It’s commonly known as the “3 H’s” in summer: hazy, hot, humid. These conditions will likely pan out over the next couple of days in south Florida. Of course, we’re accustomed to the hot and humid part, but a layer of haze is pressing in our direction from the east. Over the weekend, rain and storms could be contributed to deep lingering moisture and a spinning non-tropical low. That low pressure area is now moving away (into the Gulf of Mexico). Monday will be our transition day gradually into some drier air. Having said that, sea breeze boundaries could manage to stir up a few storms… mainly over interior south Florida. Added drying is poised to build into the region by mid day on Tuesday. As for the aforementioned haze, it should mean “steamy sunshine” into the middle of the week. As high pressure rebuilds, we’ll also notice a stronger breeze arriving from the ocean. The uptick in wind speeds will likely increase the rip current risk at area beaches. Finally, the building surf may also result in bumpy boating conditions.
