Happy Wednesday, South Florida!
Hopefully everyone has been enjoying the nice weather South Florida has had since late last week. A North wind, together with drier air, and a strong high-pressure system in control of our weather pattern, have left South Florida with a taste of fall-like weather for the last few days. And even though temperatures during the afternoon have remained warm and near-average, it’s that late-evening and early-morning feel that has us wanting more. This morning was no different. Our area woke up to temperatures in the mid to lower 70s while humidity levels were still quite comfortable.
Today in South Florida we can expect similar conditions as the previous days. The one change you might notice is that the breeze will pick up along our coastal locations. This is because there will be a weak front nearby, and our wind pattern will veer a bit more out of the NNE. Naturally, with a front nearby, a few quick-moving showers will be possible throughout the day today. Afternoon high temperatures will still remain near-average in the mid to upper 80s. Also worth mentioning, the risk of rip currents will begin to increase across area beaches while King Tides continue to cause minor saltwater flooding, especially during times of high tide.
Looking ahead, South Florida will continue to enjoy mild temperatures and mainly quiet conditions through the end of the week before some changes head our way. Moisture associated with a tropical wave could begin to move into our area this weekend. So the pleasant conditions we have been experiencing lately will soon give away to higher humidity, and that could be as early as Saturday. By the latter part of the weekend, more clouds, and a better chance for showers return to the forecast. And with another front nearby, showers could stick around as we head into the start of the next work.
Have a great afternoon!
