Local Forecast: The rain chances are up today because we have added moisture moving in from the Caribbean bringing lots of heat and humidity. This will be the perfect fuel to see showers and storms fire up by the afternoon. Look for winds to be mainly out of the Southwest to help steer the activity from the inland areas toward the coast, so keep the umbrellas on hand. A good rain chance will stick around through Friday. By the weekend, our rain chances will be more typical. Isolated showers and storms are likely for Father’s Day.
Keep in mind that we are entering into Summer and temperatures are extremely hot. Be sure to drink plenty of water and if you can, limit your outdoor exposure.

Tropical Update: We are watching an area of clouds and rain showers in the Caribbean Sea. The National Hurricane Center is stating that conditions could become favorable for an area of low pressure to grow when it reaches the Bay of Campeche later this weekend. Right now, they are giving this area a low potential of 20% in developing through the next 5 days.
