The long holiday weekend is here and the first half is shaping up to be steamy and stormy. We have tropical moisture in place with winds out of the South keeping our rain chances up to a 70% through Saturday. Therefore, look for scattered to numerous showers and storms with some of the storms could produce dangerous lightning, gusty winds and localized street flooding.
By Sunday, a slow drying trend begins. This means typical rain chances around 40% with the return of an ocean breeze. If we see showers and storms in the afternoon, they will be form in the inland areas including Southwest Florida.
If your plans take you outdoors on the 4th of July, the forecast looks promising. Lots of sunshine and heat will be around, so be sure to reapply the sunscreen and drink plenty of water!
