WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) — A moose has been spotted trotting down the streets of two densely populated Boston suburbs.
Police in Watertown and neighboring Belmont posted video on their Facebook pages of the moose spotted Wednesday morning. The moose stuck to the sidewalk in Watertown but ran down the middle of a Belmont street.
The animal was last seen darting into a wooded area of Belmont.
Belmont Assistant Chief James MacIsaac tells The Boston Globe he has seen plenty of deer in his 17 years on the force but never a moose.
Watertown police say they contacted state environmental police.
There were no reports of moose-related damage in either town.
