MIAMI (WSVN) - Prepaid toll company SunPass and the Miami Dolphins will team up for the 2016/17 season.

Sun-Sentinel’s Omar Kelly reported that the Dolphins will be the first sports team in Florida to partner with SunPass.

This will aim to create easy access parking during home games at the new Hard Rock Stadium for fans. “We’re excited,” said Dolphins’ senior vice president of operations Todd Boyan to the Sun-Sentinel. “This is ground breaking. It’s been a long two years to get through the testing.”

Fans with an active SunPass account can use it to pay for parking in four lots at Hard Rock Stadium for Dolphins games, Miami Hurricanes games and other events. Users will only pay $25 per event versus the usual $40 in the cash lots.

In order to take advantage of the discounted SunPass parking, the “Easy Pay” option on SunPass.com must be activated using a credit or debit card. Enrollment in SunPass Plus is also a requirement.

Sunpass detectors will be in place beginning with the Dolphins’ last preseason game against the Tennessee Titans, on Sept. 1.
