(WSVN) - Barry Bonds will not return to the Miami Marlins after spending just one season as a hitting instructor for the team, according to reports.

MLB Network contributor Jon Heyman reported that the Marlins decided to let Bonds go after his one-year contract was up.

He was one of the team’s two hitting instructors along with Frank Menechino. Heyman reported Menechino will be retained.

Andy Slater of 940-AM WINZ confirmed Heyman’s report and added that the team would also let go of third base coach Lenny Harris and bullpen coach Reid Cornelius.
