ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers have activated outfielder Drew Stubbs from the 60-day disabled list after a toe injury and sent outfielder Ryan Rua to Triple-A Round Rock.

To make room on the 40-man roster for Stubbs, the Rangers designated infielder Kyle Kubitza for assignment Wednesday.

Stubbs went on the DL with a left little toe sprain May 23, a day after injuring the toe running the bases against Houston. He is hitting .267 with a homer in 10 games, including four starts, since signing with the Rangers as a free agent May 7.

Rua has been with the Rangers all season, hitting .266 with seven home runs and 20 RBIs in 78 games.

Kubitza had a .182 average in 44 games with Triple-A Round Rock after he was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels on June 21.
