TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State defensive back Derwin James will miss at least 5 to 7 weeks after having surgery on Monday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.

The second-ranked Seminoles (2-0) travel to No. 10 Louisville (2-0) on Saturday.

James suffered the injury during the second half of last Saturday’s win over Charleston Southern. The 6-foot-3, 211-pound James is used as a safety, corner in nickel situations and as an edge rusher. He had eight tackles and an interception in the opener against then-No. 11 Mississippi and recorded three tackles against Charleston Southern.
