COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Keyona Hayes scored 23 points, Jessica Thomas added 16 and No. 18 Miami outlasted No. 9 Ohio State 94-89 in overtime Thursday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Ohio State’s Sierra Calhoun hit a 3-pointer at the regulation buzzer to tie it at 84. Then, Hayes’ 3-pointer with 2:30 left in overtime put Miami (6-1) ahead to stay in the game that featured 13 lead changes.

Kelsey Mitchell led Ohio State (5-3) with 29 points on 5-for-11 3-point shooting, and Shayla Cooper added 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Mitchell hit a 3-pointer to pull Ohio State to within a point with 5 seconds left in overtime, but the Buckeyes were forced to start foul.

Laura Cornelius added 11 points, and Erykah Davenport had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Hurricanes.

Ohio State came from behind to lead 22-17 after the first period on the strength of a 10-0 run to finish it. But the Buckeyes went cold, and Miami surged ahead on an 11-0 run and led at the half 41-30. Ohio State hit just 2 of 12 shots from the floor in the second quarter, and was just 1 for 13 from 3-point range in the first half.

Ohio State came alive again in the third, hitting its last six shots from the floor in the period, including back-to-back 3-pointers by Mitchell and Kiara Lewis.

Miami led 60-59 after three.
