LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Laura Cornelius scored 12 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer, to lead No. 14 Miami past Albany for a 77-53 win Sunday.

Jessica Thomas and Keyanna Harris added 11 points apiece and Erykah Davenport had 10 for Miami (1-1), which held a 46-24 rebounding advantage and had 15 steals. The 11 points was a career high for Harris.

Trailing by a point at the end of the first quarter, Miami got a 3 from Cornelius to spark a 12-2 run that made it 31-22 with 5:19 left in the opening half. The Hurricanes led the rest of the way and stretched the margin to double figures for good when Nigia Green sank back-to-back 3-pointers, making it 42-28 with 2:10 left in the second quarter.

Imani Tate led Albany with 23 points on 10-for-17 shooting.

Miami hit 12 of 30 from long range, tying last season’s best mark for made 3s.
