MIAMI (AP) — The trade sending cornerback Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Miami Dolphins from the Philadelphia Eagles is now final.

The Eagles will receive a draft pick as compensation, with the details yet to be released.

Miami approved the trade Wednesday after speculation it might fall through because of an issue with Maxwell’s physical. He missed the final two games last season because of a sprained shoulder.

His agent, Alvin Keels, tweeted that the deal was on: "Maxwell cleared by Dolphins staff and ready to roll!"

Maxwell and Alonso both had a disappointing year in Philadelphia after they were acquired before the 2015 season by coach Chip Kelly, who was fired before the season finale. Philadelphia finished 7-9.
