MIAMI (AP) — The Miami Heat did not make a pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, primarily because of the terms of the trade that sent Goran Dragic to them in 2015.

It’s the second time in the last three years that Miami did not make a selection in the draft. The Heat have made only one pick in the last three years — that being Bam Adebayo in the first round last season.

Part of the Dragic deal was the Heat sending two first-rounders to Phoenix for the point guard. The first of those picks was this year’s selection; the other will be owned by Phoenix in 2021.

Miami also was without a pick to make in the 2013 draft.
