Miramar Police later confirmed Dunbar has also turned himself in.
7News cameras captured Dunbar, wearing a hoodie and a face mask, as he arrived at the Broward County Jail, Saturday afternoon.
“I just walked him in, risking his reputation and, of course, his health during this pandemic, and it’s pretty disgusting,” said Michael Grieco, Dunbar’s attorney
Both Grieco and Baker’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, said they have affidavits that will clear their clients.
Baker and Dunbar were sought by police since Thursday, when arrest warrants were issued.
Cohen posted on Instagram: “We believe our client is innocent of all charges. We urge people not to rush to judgment. We have affidavits from several witnesses that exonerate my client.”
On Friday, Grieco said that “law enforcement and the state attorney’s office are both now aware that my client is innocent.”
Police in Miramar, Florida, issued arrest warrants for both men after multiple witnesses accused them of an armed robbery at a party.
Baker, 22, and Dunbar, 27, were attending a cookout at a Miramar home Wednesday night when a fight broke out, and Baker pulled out a handgun, the warrant said. Baker, Dunbar and two other men began robbing other people at the party of thousands of dollars in cash, watches and other valuables, witnesses told investigators.
The police report states one witness told officers, “Baker pointed a gun at him and he was in fear of his life.”
The police report goes on to state, “Quinton Disheen Dunbar was assisting Baker in taking the money and valuables from attendees.”
But Grieco said he has sworn statements from alleged witnesses and victims saying neither suspect committed any crime.
“[Investigators] made a mistake in relying on five bad witnesses who have since, not only provided me with five new stories, but then they went ahead and they provided five new stories to the other attorney, is my understanding,” said Grieco.
The police report mentions a third unnamed masked person who was allegedly directed by Baker to shoot someone, saying, “The person wearing the red mask robbed him of $7,000 in U.S. currency and a Hublot watch valued at $25,000.”
Now it’s up to a judge to decide what happens next.
Baker and Dunbar bonded out of jail on Sunday. Baker’s bond was set at $200,000, and Dunbar’s bond was set at $100,000.
