MIAMI (WSVN) - They’re not willing to say goodbye just yet, so they did something about it.

Die-hard Miami Heat fans, still devastated over Dwyane Wade’s announcement that he will be leaving the team, showed up for a rally in Miami, Sunday morning.

Holding signs and wearing Heat jerseys, fans gathered outside of Wade’s youth camp at Jose Marti Gym in the hopes of bringing the star player back to the Magic City.

Wade, a 12-time All-Star, is taking his talents to Chicago.

Devoted fans wanted their chance to tell D-Wade goodbye. “I just want the Heat organization to understand, even if they don’t want to pay the man to play on the court, his loyalty, just his presence, his mentorship, that’s worth more than any money that they can give him,” said a woman.

“Wade, thank you for everything that you’ve done for us,” said a male fan. “We’re really going to miss you. Have a good time in Chicago.”

Another fan said she is having trouble coping with the reality of a Miami Heat without her favorite player. “This is Wade county, it’s always gonna be Wade county,” she said, “and I don’t know what we’re gonna do if we can’t see Wade play.”
