MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) - The Dolphins will open the newly renovated Hard Rock Stadium, Thursday, and 7News got a sneak preview Monday.

Senior Vice President of Stadium Renovations Bill Senn showed 7News the stadium’s new renovations, which cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Senn said the fan experience will be “night and day” compared to before the renovations.

“When our guests come up the helixes and they stand under the crucible, if you will, of the mast, that’s a very impressive sight,” Senn said. “And when they walk out into the bowl and they see the video boards and see how big they are and the quality of the video boards, and then when we crank up the sound system, it is night and day.”

The renovations include a brand new canopy covering seats, video screens, a special state-of-the-art field turf and new concessions. Earlier this month, the stadium’s new name was announced. In August, the NFL announced the Super Bowl would be held in the stadium in 2020.

Senn said, Monday, that the time frame to get the renovations done was the biggest obstacle they had to overcome.

“The biggest challenge was just the deadline itself … with this amount of steel going up in that sort a period of time, you know, we were very fortunate that the contractor had a good plan and was able to execute on that plan,” Senn said.
