Children and families enjoy entertainment during last year’s The Children’s Trust Family Expo events.

The Children’s Trust Family Expo is back and will connect families, caregivers, and their children with organizations that serve them on three Saturdays in the summer full of resources, giveaways, entertainment, and fun and games. And this year, get ready for an exciting twist that will keep everyone cool despite the blistering summer heat.

Unlike previous years, the upcoming Family Expo events will take place in three brand-new locations across the county, ensuring accessibility for all. But that’s not all. Reacting to sweltering summer temperatures during last year’s events, the Family Expo has moved its exhibition spaces indoors, into air-conditioned gymnasiums.

That means that parents and children can stroll through dozens of exhibitors who offer services and resources for children and families more comfortably than ever. The new “cooler” venues include the gymnasiums at Booker T. Washington Senior High on July 22, Miami Dade College Kendall Campus on July 29, and Florida Memorial College on August 6. All Family Expos will take place on Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

While the indoor setting ensures comfort, the Family Expos will continue to host a wide range of fun and entertaining activities including face painting, balloon artists, arts and crafts, and a delightful photo booth will captivate children of all ages. The UHealth Jackson Urgent Care Teddy Bear Clinic, where children can have their beloved bears “treated” by professionals, for the first time in several years.

There will also be music and dancing as part of a celebration capping The Trust’s 20th Year Anniversary celebration, while enchanting character shows promise even more entertainment. And let’s not overlook the mouthwatering delights served up at food trucks onsite, adding a delectable touch to the festivities.

As always, the Family Expo guarantees an experience that combines entertainment, vital resources and an atmosphere of fun and unity. The Children’s Trust remains committed to providing the utmost convenience for families to attend and access crucial information and resources before the upcoming school year. And to make your journey even easier, The Children’s Trust has partnered with Uber who will provide families with an Uber Voucher good for up to $15 each way* on the hours and days of the Family Expos.
