LOST HILLS, Ca. (WSVN) — ‘Wonderful Pistachios’ is voluntarily recalling  several flavors and sizes of in-shell and shelled pistachios because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Health officials are investigating 11 cases in nine states that have been reported.

The pistachios were sold nationwide under the brand names Wonderful, Paramount Farms, and Trader Joe’s.

"Wonderful Pistachios takes food safety matters very seriously and is working closely with health officials to identify the source of the problem.  In an effort to further enhance our food safety program and ensure the health and well being of our consumers, we have, effective immediately, proactively increased our sampling frequencies and lot size testing," a news release said.

If you’re infected with Salmonella you may experience diarrhea, fever, or abdominal cramps within 12-72 of eating the product.

Customers may return the product to the store for a full refund, or call (844) 505-3844 for more information.
