Wilton Manors looks to change its health plan for transgender employees

WILTON MANORS, Fla. (WSVN) — A South Florida city is changing its health plan for transgender employees.

Wilton Manors city leaders are in talks of expanding their insurance to better support medical coverage for transgender employees and their families.

Currently, gender confirmation surgery is excluded from the city’s health plan, causing a financial strain that can often hinder the completion of the process.
