MIAMI (WSVN) - Legendary video game company Nintendo unveiled plans for its next console, but there’s a twist: It can also be taken on-the-go.
Nintendo released a three-minute video on YouTube, Thursday morning, announcing “Nintendo Switch,” a console hybrid that can be used as a handheld device.
According to the video, users can slide both sides of their controller, snap it onto the handheld component of the Switch and take their gaming with them outside of their living room. The video displayed a seamless transition from the TV to the handheld device, allowing gamers to pick up exactly where they left off.
Nintendo has been the center of rumors for months surrounding its next console, dating back to this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
One of the games shown in the video was “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and what looked to be a third-party video game, which Nintendo has strayed away from in the past.
Nintendo Switch is expected in March of 2017.
