MIAMI (WSVN) - A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputy is behind bars in Georgia after she was charged with sexually exploiting a minor.
Authorities said earlier this year, Carle Miranda Blum, 51, traveled out of state to visit a then 17-year-old.
Blum was taken into custody on Wednesday after the US Attorney’s Office said she received and recorded multiple videos and images of the victim engaged in sexually explicit acts.
A body camera video from 2022 showed Blum responding to an emergency call.
Sheriff Rosie Cordero Stutz responded to the allegations, calling the actions a betrayal of the badge.
Blum has been relieved of duty without pay, according to the sheriff’s office. She faces two federal charges, including receipt and production of visual depictions involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
