MIAMI (WSVN) - Burger King plans to surprise our taste buds with their newest creation next week: a hamburger burrito called the Whopperito.

According to FOX 59, the Whopperito will use the same beef used in their classic Whopper, but with a zesty seasoning to give it a “Tex-Mex” feel.

The burrito-hamburger hybrid will include all the typical burger fixings such as tomatoes, onions, lettuce and pickles. But instead of American cheese the Whopperito will have “queso sauce.”

All of this is then wrapped into a flour tortilla.

According to Burger King president Alex Macedo, the chain has been looking to get into the Tex-Mex market for awhile. But it wasn’t until a franchisee with restaurants in Pennsylvania and Ohio experimented with the creation that Burger King picked it up.

The Whopperito is scheduled to launch nationwide on Aug. 15. The burger-burrito will cost $2.99 on its own or $4.99 as part of a combo meal.
