CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. (WSVN) — Even beavers need Christmas decorations, if one animal’s shopping spree is any indication.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office said a beaver managed to make its way into a Dollar General store on Monday. Witnesses spotted the animal in the Christmas section, checking out the merchandise.

The Sheriff’s Office said authorities were called in once the beaver caused some property damage.
Although the beaver tried to escape once deputies and Animal Control officers arrived, they managed to safely apprehend the furry culprit. The beaver was later released to a wildlife rehabilitator.
