JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — A 79-year-old cruise ship passenger got lost on a hike near an Alaska glacier and spent a night in the forest without camping gear.

The Juneau Empire reports the woman from Ontario, Canada, made her way to Juneau’s Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center the next day, tired and wet but in good shape.

The unidentified woman was a passenger on the Coral Princess.

Visitor center spokeswoman Nikki Hinds says the woman attempted to hike the East Glacier Trail Wednesday and veered onto another trail.

As night fell, she became disoriented and decided to stay on the trail.

Juneau police launched a search. Meanwhile, the Coral Princess left for its next destination.

The woman reached the visitors center at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. She flew to Ketchikan to rejoin her cruise ship.
