MIAMI (WSVN) — The U.S. government paid Alan Gross more than $3 million to settle a lawsuit.
Gross and his wife sued the country for $60 million in 2012, citing gross negligence. Gross was arrested in Cuba back in 2009 for providing cell phones to Cuban Jews as part of a U.S. aid program.
Last week, Gross gained his freedom in a deal that restored decades-long diplomatic ties between the U.U.S.and Cuba.
