NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) — A tractor trailer overturned near Florida’s Turnpike, spilling lumber over Okeechobee Road and trapping the driver inside the vehicle, Tuesday afternoon.
Crews responded to the scene on the accident along Okeechobee Rd and Northwest 170th Street. According to witnesses, the truck’s driver lost control of the vehicle before swerving onto the side of the road and rolling over.
Florida Highway Patrol, along with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, were also on the scene. Crews extricated the driver and transported him to the hospital in unknown condition.
The accident has caused heavy traffic delays on Okeechobee Road. Officials have rerouted drivers while crews cleared the scene.
