WSVN — Want to look like a beauty at the beach? Go red, as in Red Carter. This summer season the Miami designer's suits are sparking a tribal trend.

Red Carter, designer: "If I had to pick one swimsuit trend for this year, it would have to be ethnic prints. They are on fire! They're bold colors, they're blocks of colors, batik prints, anything that looks like it comes from India or Africa."

For the girly girls, Bandeau tops and ruffles are all the rage.

Red Carter: "We're seeing small ruffles, big ruffles. The best thing about ruffles are they're a great bust enhancer."

Swim is definitely glammed up this season with sequins and even one-shoulder swimsuits that look more like tops you'd wear for a night out on the town!

Red Carter: "Surprisingly, a lot of these swimsuits can go from day to night. Some are for parties, and some are for parading around the pool."

Swim goddess Shay Todd is also making a huge fashion splash with her 2009 collection.

Shay Todd, Designer: "One of the looks that is certainly at the top of my list this season is an asymmetrical one-piece. It's something I think you could even wear with a pair of jeans and a blazer."

Much of her swim line is gypsy-inspired with lots of flowing cover-ups and flowery designs.

Shay Todd: "I had a lot of fun with color, with florals, with texture, with accents."

For the really daring, she's taken lingerie from the bedroom to the pool.

Shay Todd: "One of them actually reminds me of a french maid outfit with crocheted accenting to give it that vintage look."

But, for those who want to leave something to the imagination, her sporty line is just for you.

Shay Todd: "I like to keep the sportier shapes, where people feel comfortable and secure in it but not lose the fashion sense, so I accented them with tassels or beading or braided belts."

So you've got your suit, your cover-up, all you need is the right shoes to strut your stuff.

Tara Solomon, TARA, Ink.: "This year, footwear for swim is very versatile. It takes you from pool to dinner to cocktails."

When it comes to color, the brighter the better.

Tara Solomon: "Bright fuchsia, bright turquoise, yellow, it really pops out an outfit, whether it's black or white, or a patterned."

Keeping with the glam theme, you can't go wrong with metallics.

Tara Solomon: "Metallics in platinum, gold, bronze, copper, you name it, you have to have metallics."

And of course bling never goes out of style in Miami.

Tara Solomon: "In footwear, you see embellishments, like diamond studs and grommets, which are little holes that are punched out of metallic in leather."

The shoes you just saw are brands Callisto of California and Athena Alexander. They're sold at Nordstrom and Macys and start at $49.
