WSVN — Summer is almost here. That means new styles are out in full force, but while you’re sprucing up your closet, don’t forget about your furry friends! Belkys Nerey has the scoop on fashionable and functional styles for Fido in the Style File.
Miami is all about fashion, but why should those of us on two legs have all the fun?
Charlotte Reed: “Fashion is definitely a part of this city, so this is one great way to highlight the dogs.”
Pet expert Charlotte Reed believes fashion forward fur babies are a must.
Charlotte Reed: “Walking with your dog is like wearing a good hat. People want their dogs, like their kids, to reflect their lifestyle.”
Our friends at the Humane Society of Greater Miami are strutting their stuff, showing off some of the hot options for your pampered pet.
Charlotte Reed: “They can look their best, feel their best and really get a lot of attention from the fashionistas and fashionistos.”
Patches proves safety can still be savvy when hitting the water, as long as you keep it bright.
Charlotte Reed: “One thing dogs always need is a life jacket, so why not get a life jacket in a bright, beautiful color?”
Once you’ve doggie paddled back to shore, it’s time to gear up for the game. Why not get your pet in on the action? The right jersey will show off their team spirit.
Charlotte Reed: “When they’re watching the games, their dogs are sitting next to them wearing the jerseys.”
Maybe your pet has a little more sophisticated taste. Farrah likes long walks on the beach and the perfect dress.
Charlotte Reed: “They want to look cute. It’s that kind of ‘Legally Blonde,’ you know, kind of image.”
Does your pup have more of a rock ‘n’ roll side?
Charlotte Reed: “People love to go to summer concerts. We have a little pun on one of our favorite rock bands that people will kind of show your personality.”
Your pup will be a star, like George here in a cute rock-themed T-shirt. Or go a little boho with tie-dye action. Honey is showing her sweet side.
Nothing is hotter than a banging bod. Brighten up that morning walk or run like Watson, in a simple but sharp neon vest and collar.
Charlotte Reed: “Not only do you look hot, you’re glowing literally, but it’s also an element of safety.”
Remember, in the hot Miami sun, simple is always just as stylish. Rocco is so cute, all he needs is a bandanna to really make a statement!
Charlotte Reed: “A good bath, a good cut and a great bandanna around his neck, and that makes the perfect photo op, too.”
These fashionable but functional pet trends will have tails and tongues wagging, no matter your pet personality!
All of the doggie models in today’s Style File are ready for adoption at the Humane Society of Greater Miami.
