HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) — A school bus has been found less than a week after it was stolen from in front of a South Florida business.

Angela Jackson said she is relieved that she will once again be able to sit behind the wheel of her privately-owned school bus. The bus will be able to hit the road again as early as Wednesday. No severe damage was made to the bus other than the ignition being stripped.

Jackson had left the diesel truck idling while she stepped inside a check-cashing store last Wednesday to retrieve money for gas. Since the truck was on empty, and it being a diesel truck, Jackson said she feared taking the keys out of the ignition would lock-up the engine.

“No reports were made about anything being done to the bus,” Jackson said. “The police said, by there being a short distance, obviously this person wanted to just get a free ride in the bus.”

If you have any information on this bus theft, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
