MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — Some four-legged global champs are set to visit South Florida this weekend for a little bit of horse play.

Miami Beach is serving as the launch destination for the 2016 Longines Global Champions Tour, starting Thursday. The event, an elite equestrian competition, will include 75 of the world’s best show jumping horses.

"We have the top riders of the world. We have Olympic medalists, gold medalists, European champions, of course, all the best USA riders," said Longines spokesperson Marco Danese, "so it’s the top, top level of our sport."

The three-day event will be free to the public on a first come, first served basis. The competition will take place at Collins Park near 21st Street and Collins Avenue, Thursday through Saturday.
