WASHINGTON, D.C. (WSVN) — Secret Service agent Jerry Parr, who is credited with saving President Reagan’s life, has died.
The retired agent passed away Friday, at the age of 85. Parr was in charge of Reagan’s secret service protection detail on March 30th, 1981, when a gunman shot the president as he left the Washington Hilton.
Parr could be seen in a video pushing Reagan into a waiting limousine and then directing the driver to take him to the hospital. Doctors later said that any delay would have been fatal.
