Are mammograms painful for you? Does it make you hesitate to go for your yearly screening? Dr. Mary Hayes at Memorial Hospital Miramar says you are not alone.
Dr. Mary Hayes: “Patients vary tremendously in their sensitivity. We like to tell patients if you can take some Tylenol before you come in because that might help and also if you can schedule your mammogram the second week of your menstrual cycle that’s when the patients are least tender.”
Dr. Hayes says a couple minutes of being uncomfortable is worth it if it can save your life. So schedule your yearly mammogram.
