MIAMI (WSVN) — Cuban leader Raul Castro demands an end to the US Embargo.
"The economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba persists, bringing damages and hardships on the Cuban people, and standing as the main obstacle to our country’s economic development," Castro said through a translator.
Castro spoke at the United Nations for the first time, and praised the re-establishment of relations with Washington. The Cuban leader asked for more to be done to help the island nation’s economy.
He will speak in front of the UN General assembly on Monday. Castro will also meet several big name politicians Saturday.
He shook hands for the first time with former president Bill Clinton and also met with New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio.
