MIAMI (WSVN) — A South Florida school board member says she’s ready to run for mayor.
Miami-Dade County Public School Board member Raquel Regalado, daughter of current City of Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado, announced Sunday that she will seek the office of county mayor in 2016. The 40-year-old is expected to file paperwork Monday.
The announcement brings the county’s current mayor, Carlos Giménez, his first official opponent as he gears up for a second full term.
