MIAMI (WSVN) — Citizens Insurance will be making policy changes beginning Jan. 1 in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

The state-run property insurance corporation will stop insuring homes worth more than $700,000 in the counties.

Over 300 homes in each county will no longer be eligible for coverage through Citizens Insurance.

The eligibility cap reduction is the final step of a multi-year "step-down process," which is intended to move high-end properties off Citizens’ books and into the private market.
