ORLANDO, Fla. (WSVN) — Presidential candidates have taken to Twitter to weigh in on the attacks on Paris.

Many republican candidates were at the republican Sunshine Summit discussing various topics including the economy, jobs and immigration. However, around 4:42 p.m., the situation in Paris became apparent.

While on stage at 5:30 p.m., Donald Trump did not make any mention of the situation in Paris. However, nearly an hour later, the head of the Florida Republican Party, Blaise Ingoglia, took to the stage and gave a statement about what was going on in Paris.

"News reports are coming in, right now, that there have been multiple shootings and bombings at multiple locations in Paris," said Ingoglia.

Ben Carson took the stage afterward, but did not mention the situation until later on with reporters. He said, "It reminds us that there are those out there who have a thirst for innocent blood."

Soon, candidates began tweeting about the situation.

Jeb Bush tweeted, "Praying for Paris tonight. America will stand with you against terror."

Marco Rubio tweeted, "Praying for victims of attacks in Paris and for those reportedly held hostage."

Ted Cruz tweeted, "Horrific reports coming out of Paris. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people of France – our oldest ally."

After he left the stage, Trump later tweeted "My prayers are with the victims and hostages in the horrible Paris attacks. May God be with you all."

On the democratic side, candidates tweeted similar messages.

Hillary Clinton tweeted, "The reports from Paris are harrowing. Praying for the city and families of the victims. -H."

Bernie Sanders tweeted "Horrified by the attacks in Paris tonight. My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones."

Some believe that this attack can have an impact on the election as questions about their actions in this situation will potentially be asked in future debates.

"They’re gonna have to do exactly what you saw Ben Carson have to do," said Dr. Susan McManus of the University of South Florida. "They’re gonna have to answer specific questions about what they would do as president, because this is a problem that we know is not going to go away."
