VATICAN CITY (WSVN) — Pope Francis prayed for peace in Vatican City on Sunday.

The Pope met with Palestinian authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli President Shimon Peres to pray for peace in the mideast region.

The meeting incorporated Christian, Jewish and Muslim prayers in Hebrew, English, Arabic and Italian.

The meeting comes just weeks after U.S. sponsored negotiations between the two sides collapsed.
