DENVER (AP) — The Bernie Sanders supporters who will be inside the Democratic National Convention in July are not backing down and see no harm if they have to shout a little at the gathering.
Hillary Clinton has nearly clinched the Democratic presidential nomination. But Sanders hopes to persuade delegates at the convention to pick him instead. Many Sanders delegates say they will push their fight to the convention floor if that’s what Sanders wants.
Democrats have increasingly become concerned about the convention since angry Sanders backers shouted down speakers and disrupted the Nevada Democratic convention last weekend over perceived procedural slights. The state party chairwoman received death threats.
Sanders supporters are increasingly tense and worry the party establishment will try to silence them at the national convention.
