Broward County Schools will make decision Regarding Schools Due to Tropical Storm Erika Sunday.
Monroe County Schools will operate as normal Monday. A decision may be made as late as Saturday afternoon if schools will be closed.
In case of weather, the schools of the Archdiocese of Miami will follow the lead of their county’s public schools with regard to closing.
Miami Dade College remains open and under normal operations through the weekend. For the latest status of operations, students and employees are urged to check MDC’s homepage at www.mdc.edu, the MDC Hotline at 305-237-7500.

The Wayne Barton Study Center’s Grocery Giveaway
The food distribution planned for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at multiple locations throughout Broward County has been canceled due to possibly inclement weather.
Biscayne National Park
All park islands including Boca Chita Key, Elliott Key and Adams Key, and the mainland area at Convoy Point (9 miles east of Homestead) are closed to the public. Park waters remain open for vessel transit only. The closure will remain in effect until further notice. Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks will be closing to visitors at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29. Theparks will remain closed at least until Tuesday, Sept. 1 at noon, or until the storm passes and potential clean-up requirements are completed.
