MIAMI (WSVN) — The South Florida mother who was apprehended in Texas after, police said, she abducted her 1-year-old son from a home in Miami, has been arrested and is currently behind bars.

According to Miami Police, 29-year-old Leydibet Hernandez was booked into jail in Miami-Dade County, Wednesday, just after 1:45 p.m. She is being charged with interference of custody.

Investigators said she and her son, Logan Hernandez, boarded a bus to Texas shortly after the alleged abduction. Sunday evening, authorities located mother and child in Laredo, about 13 miles from the Mexican border.

Police said Hernandez became a fugitive after she was released by Laredo Police because extradition papers did not come in to Texas in enough time. Officials said she’d had custody of her 21-month-old child revoked.

Police eventually arrested Rebeca Rodriguez, Logan’s court-appointed guardian, for allegedly giving police a fake story about the child’s disappearance. Rodriguez’s son, Juan Pablo Mesa Jr., and another suspect, Lazara Ortiz, were also arrested.

Hernandez is being held on $500,000 bond. Logan will be placed in foster care.
