Microsoft announced in a release on their Xbox website that they will begin allowing cross-network play.
The company said the announcement means players on Xbox One and Windows 10 will be able to play with players on different online gaming networks. Examples of other online gaming networks include PCs and Sony’s PS-4 network.
Game developers and other online networks will have to decide whether they will support the cross-network feature.
Microsoft said Psyonix’s Rocket League will be one of the first games to take advantage of this new cross-network capability.
