MEDLEY, Fla. (WSVN) — Animal lovers opened their hearts and their homes during a three-day adoption event at the overcrowded Miami-Dade Animal Services shelter.
The shelter waived all adoption fees for pets over 4 months old in an effort to avoid euthanizing large numbers of animals.
Almost half of the pets, 342 animals, were rescued over the weekend.
