JUPITER, Fla. (WSVN) — The man who found the boat of two teens who went missing at sea is speaking out.
The captain of the ship, Havard Melvaer, found the boat of 14-year-old Perry Cohen and Austin Stephanos, and told the Palm Beach Post, "It’s just a stroke of luck. There was no skill involved. it just took a pair of eyes looking in that particular time."
The captain found the boat eight months after the teens went on a fishing trip, never to return.
The boat was found 100 miles off the coast of Bermuda in March. Crews on the boat also discovered an iPhone that belonged to one of the teens.
The Coast Guard went on an extensive search for the two teens after they went missing. However, they found no traces of them.
