CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (WSVN) — Police are searching for a convicted felon after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and fired a gun at her son.
According to police reports, 53-year-old Richard Lee Ellwood, entered his ex-girlfriend’s Coral Springs home on Sunday and threatened her and her son with a handgun. He fired at her 20-year-old son but the son was able to dodge the bullet.
No one was injured.
Ellwood has active warrants for attempted first degree murder, armed burglary, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police believe he fled the area in a Red 2000 GMC Jimmy Sport Utility Vehicle with a broken passenger side window covered in duct tape. The vehicle has a Florida tag number of 785MVP.
