MIAMI (WSVN) — Miami Police have arrested a 15-year-old they said shot and killed a 16-year-old boy in Miami, Tuesday.

One day after the shooting, family members and friends of 16-year-old Osmand Falls showed compassion for the victim and frustration toward the suspect in this case. Jorge Roberto Franco has been charged with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.

Officials said Franco was involved in a fight at Northwest 10th Avenue and First Street when, according to witnesses, they saw Franco approach the victim and shoot him twice before fleeing the scene.

One witness said he heard the gunshots, Tuesday evening. "I heard three gunshots, and we stop, and we see the guy on the floor," he said.

Neighbors said the teen was killed after an argument about a basketball game. Falls was hit several times Tuesday, around 6:15 p.m. "I listen, boom, boom, boom," said another witness.

Cell phone video showed the tense moments as paramedics worked to bring Falls back to life. He was pronounced dead hours later. "We do know that it was one gunman, and he fled from this area, just seconds after that shooting occurred," said Miami Police Officer Kenia Fallat.

Miami Police worked through a sleepless night as they conducted one interview after another in the hopes that someone would have answers to their questions. "We are asking for a lot of the people that live in this area, perhaps if they heard or saw something," Fallat said.

As Falls’ family mourn their loss, the community is left calling for an end to gun violence.
