WSVN — Join Chef Lucas Marino at the Driftwood Room as he shows you how give your wooden board that added shine to help bring out the best in your hors d’oeuvres.
Chef Lucas Marino: "Hello, I’m Chef Lucas Marino at the Driftwood Room at the Nautilus Hotel, and this is an Online Extra."
Chef Lucas Marino: "So, a lot of people, when they do hors d’oeuvres in their home, they like using wooden plates. What I like to do is, I like to put a little bit of olive oil onto the actual wooden board, so it gives you a gloss, almost like a sheen, so it doesn’t have that flat, dull look when you’re putting food on the actual board itself."
Chef Lucas Marino: "So you want to use a light amount of oil, and then with a clean rag, just kind of rub it into the wood. It almost gives you a treated look to the wood itself."
Chef Lucas Marino: "This is a simple trick I use to make my wooden boards a lot better for presentation. Bon appetit!"
