WSVN — You love the accent, the wine, the food. Now you can pretend you’re in Italy, without ever leaving South Florida! 7’s Belkys Nerey is in the market for a new foodie experience in tonight’s Style File.
It’s time to live like Italians!
Pietro Morelli: “It’s about taste. Taste the food, live the experience and share it with your friends.”
There’s a new must-visit market in Wynwood, called Made in Italy, where just like the name, everything inside is literally from Italy.
Pietro Morelli: “In every corner that you can go in, you can find Italian products. We have biscotti, we have olive oil selection, we have a vinegar selection, huge pasta selection.”
Mari: “It feels like Italy. That authenticity of ingredients, the food.”
But it’s not just about shopping. The market is a place to come in, have a coffee or glass of vino from Tuscany at the bar.
Henry Mairena: “You can spend three or four hours, just talking, eating and drinking wine.”
Then wander over to the counter to pick up fine cheeses and sliced-to-order meats. Or stay there for sandwiches filled with prosciutto and fresh salads, like the rich Aida Ricotta salad.
Mari Tato: “Which had the fennel, greens with ricotta cheese. It melts in your mouth; it’s just butter.”
Of course, you can’t visit Italy without indulging in wine.
Pietro Morelli: “This is what we call the wine library. One of the biggest selections of Italian wines that you can find in Miami.”
Sit at the communal table under the Murano glass chandeliers, and sommelier Sergio Russo’ will let you sample high-rated, pricey wines.
Sergio Russo: “Sometimes you go to wine store, you buy something that costs $50, and then you get it home and it’s not your palate. Here you have a chance to taste it before you buy it.”
Bravo for an authentic Italian experience!
Made in Italy also offers free wine tastings several times a week.
