NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A woman was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the leg while inside of her Northwest Miami-Dade apartment, Monday morning.
According to police, a woman was shot in the leg just after 10 a.m., at Sugarhill Apartments, between Northwest 72nd Street and 14th Avenue.
The victim told police two men dressed all in black forced their way into her apartment saying, “Where is it? Where is it?” and then shot her in the leg moments later.
The men then ran off. It remains unknown if they got away with any property.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the woman, who has not been identified, to Jackson Memorial Hospital with a police escort.
A little girl was seen walking into the hospital’s emergency entrance alongside the woman who was on a stretcher. However, this girl’s relationship to the woman is unknown at this time.
Miami-Dade Police are investigating the shooting.
The woman is expected to be OK.
