POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A Pompano Beach woman allegedly hid marijuana in a child’s lunch box after she was pulled over by a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy.

According to BSO, 33-year-old Tasha Sims was arrested Wednesday after she was pulled over for driving with a suspended license.

A complaint affidavit stated the deputy walked up to Sims’ vehicle, which had a child inside, and asked her to exit the vehicle. When she got out of the car, the deputy said they could smell cannabis coming from the vehicle.

The report then goes on to state the deputy asked if there was anything in the car, and Sims responded that there was and said it was in the child’s lunch box. She told the deputy she put it in the child’s lunch box after she was pulled over.

According to the report, the deputy then opened the lunch box and found a metal grinder with approximately one gram of cannabis inside.

The deputy reportedly advised Sims of her Miranda rights and said she admitted to having a suspended license.

The child was released to her mother. The Department of Children and Families was notified, and Sims was issued several citations for the traffic infractions.
